ChatBooks,
the service used to create photo books using Instagram and Facebook pictures, has
informed customers about data breach due to hacker attack after 15 million user
records were offered for sale on the dark web.
A hacker
group called Shiny Hunters started promoting ChatBooks user information on the
dark web for $2000 per 15 million rows of data. They did provide some samples
of email addresses, hashed passwords, PII and social media access tokens.
ChatBooks informed that a credit card information was not impacted.
According company’s
notification they discovered an intrusion May 05, based on forensic
investigation the breach happened March 26.
