In April 2020
GoDaddy discovered the breach happened in October 2019. They informed customers
about unauthorized access to login credentials used to connect to SSH on the
hosting account.
The fact that
it took GoDaddy 7 months to discover an issue and they also had previous
security issue cause by worker error created some questions in the
cybersecurity community.
At the same
time GoDaddy reset all passwords and asked users to audit their hosting
accounts.
