Another
phishing campaign targeting executives with fake emails from their phone
providers. The goal of the campaign is to steal login credentials and banking
details.
Researchers
at Cofense discovered that fake emails with an information about some problems
with phone provider bill inside were send to few executives already.
Email says
that the provider “has some problems which it is trying to fix” and asks to
login to their account to update details. First victims go to the page with
asking their email credentials and then they are transferred to another page which
asks users to enter their banking details (full name, credit card number, CVV
and expiration date, date of birth). After all details are entered user is
redirected to the provider’s page to avoid any suspicion.
With a huge
number of current phishing attacks users need to be very careful with any email
or message asking for immediate actions.
